See & Do
There is lots to see and do in the Hilltops region on NSW’s South West Slopes. The region is renowned for its wide array of wineries and orchards. The three main towns within the Hilltops region are Young, Boorowa and Harden.
Young is often referred to as the Cherry Capital of Australia, as the region is famous for its cherries and other stone fruit from apricots to plums, nectarines, peaches, apples and figs.
The district has a rich history, with Young being established as a result of the gold mining in the area then known as Lambing Flat.
Highlights of the year include the Lambing Flat Chinese Festival and the National Cherry Festival in Young, the Irish Woolfest in Boorowa and the Harden Kite festival.
The landscape is beautiful in all seasons but particularly attractive in blossom time (late September to early October) and autumn.
There is a wide range of restaurants and cafés, boutique shopping options and outdoor activities for the whole family.
